Your Dream Inventory (“What Dreams Are Made Of”, Part 2)
People who met Dalai Lama say that he has an amazing effect on everyone around him – like all of a sudden all noise in your head, all mind chatter disappears, and there is peace on Earth and in you, a quiet light joy.
I never met Dalai Lama, but I have met people who generate the same coherent joyful field around them which, when you are lucky enough to be in it, makes you a better and happier person. I am sure you met them too. And did you notice what all of them have in common? They are AUTHENTIC. They do not wear masks; they do not play roles. They are just being their beautiful ego-less self (“ego-less” being an operative word here).
I also believe, this is YOU. The real you, the one that you need to remember in order to find peace, find home for your disturbed soul. Your dreams help you do that.
If you read my previous article (“What Dreams Are Made Of, Part 1) and did the two suggested exercises, then you already made the first very important step towards making all your dreams come true. You woke up your CORE IDENTITY.
That does not mean though that now your life will magically change. Remembering your authenticity is one thing – BECOMING authentic is a whole different game. You are firmly rooted in your current reality and accepted roles, and it is not easy to get out of the groove.
Let’s see, however, how we can do it. I call this next step “taking your dream inventory”. I am talking about it in the 7-min. video below (Part 2 of “What dreams Are Made Of” video; you can find Part 1 HERE or here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgzSwldrHzA).
If the video does not play for you, go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9dXWkP9u_U
Here is what I am talking about in the video, with some of my later comments. That’s what you do to “take your dream inventory’.
- Find a quiet place and a quiet moment and shift into your core identity, into You in Your Perfect Day. From that place, focus on your dreams. What that beautiful person dreams of?
- Make a LIST of your dreams and rate them in order of importance to you.
(WARNING! Watch for your EGO sneaking up in your dreams. If your dreams are ego-dictated, then making them come true may bring you a temporary satisfaction, but will NOT make you happy. No matter what you have, it will never be enough. One way of detecting the “ego-dream” is to look at it and ask yourself, “Why?” And answer honestly.
“I dream of my son going to Harvard… WHY? To become a parent of a Harvard graduate – or because I want my son to have the best education possible? But then it does not necessarily have to be Harvard; there are other great schools. And, BTW, what is that my son wants?” “I want to marry a millionaire… WHY? Because I want to make him happy – or because I want to get the benefits of someone else’s fortune?” “I want a 100-ft yacht… WHY? Why does it have to be 100 ft? Would 33 ft be enough for what I truly want?”
And so on. You’ve got the point. There is nothing wrong with ego-dreams. They are great fun to go for too, as long as you are aware of what they are and do not expect them to bring you true happiness, otherwise you are up to a huge disappointment.
3. Select one of the more important dreams and inventory it as follows. Divide a piece of paper vertically into two parts: in the left column, list the BENEFITS you are going to get by following your dream and making it come true; in the right column, list the OBSTACLES preventing you from following your dream.
4. Weight benefits against obstacles.
– If obstacles prevail, well… game over (for now). You are not ready for the next step, your chains are too heavy, your wings haven’t grown back yet, you are still imprisoned by your current reality. Do some soul searching and come back to this exercise in a little while. You may feel different.
– If benefits prevail and you are saying to yourself, “I have to do it. I have no idea HOW I am going to get there, but I am going for my dream, and I will make it come true,” – CONGRATULATIONS. You just made a huge step forward. You set a GOAL. You aligned your heart and your mind. Your dream is not just a dream anymore; it became INTENT, and it carries energy that can move mountains.
From here, you need a PLAN. You need to figure out how to deal with all those obstacles in the right column, and we will talk about it in the next post. But truthfully, it is all mechanics from here. You main job is done: you know who you are, and you know where you are going. How many people can say it about themselves?

P.S. Just don’t forget to take your FUSION tools with you. You will need them no matter where you are going 🙂 And if you do not have them yet or need some more – there is our New Year’s SALE coming up in just a few days, starting Dec. 7th, 2012! Stay tuned.
P.P.S. Don’t miss the very last recommendation in the video. It is a VERY powerful tool in making your dreams come true. It blends your dreams with reality, gives them concreteness, keeps your mind’s eye on the goal – and you need all that to put the Law of Attraction to work.
